🌸SHOWCASE + RECORDS + BEERS
Playing in bands such as Rose Mercie (SDZ, Jelodanti, MonofonusPress) and La Ligne Claire (Bruit direct disques), Charlène Darling is a self-taught musician who composes sweet and warm pop but also icy themes or minimal and percussive rock! After many collaborations with TG Gondard, Èlg et OsO El RoTo, she unveils this autumn her first studio album “Saint-Guidon”, combining her lo-fi roots with larger and more heterogeneous arrangements, will be out on the Belgian label “L’Amour aux mille parfums”.
Filmed one October afternoon at a swimming pool, in the company of friendly mermaids and a happy lifeguard, the musician sings “a song of concrete love, the pleasure of having finally found a shared love, sweetness. It was written by my brother who was supposed to sing it as a duet with me but we thought it might be a little too sulphurous/incestuous. Finally it is Marine the keyboard player who sings all the choruses, and Jérôme the drummer who accompanies me for the male voice. It works well with his deep voice I think. ».
With its Thai Molam tunes, its radiant melody and its enchanting choruses, “Les sports imaginaires” makes a perfect teaser for the superb collection that constitutes “Saint Guidon”.
