A contemporary meditative atmosphere of a virtuoso and experimental harpist
It is with a great deal of effect pedals and experimentation that classical musician Mary Lattimore succeeds in ridding the harp of its “old-fashioned” image. The complex and meditative atmosphere of this Los Angeles-based artist recalls the best works of Harold Budd and Pauline Oliveros.
In addition to signatures on Ghostly Intl, Thrill Jockey and Three Lobed Recordings, his record includes collaborations with Thurston Moore, Steve Gunn, Meg Baird, Sharon Van Etten, Jarvis Cocker, Arcade Fire and Kurt Vile.
In early 2019, Lattimore released an album of remixes of his opus Hundreds of Days (2018) with adaptations by Jónsi, Alex Somers and Julianna Barwick, among others.
