Julien Desprez started playing guitar as a self-taught musician at the age of 16. He then joined the conservatories of De Yerres and Montreuil where he graduated with a D.E.M. and a jazz gold medal. At the same time, he participated in various concerts that gave him the opportunity to rub shoulders with Charlie Haden, François Jeanneau, Tortoise, Louis Sclavis, Stephane Payen, Guillaume Orti, Benoit Delbecq, Han Bennink, Edward Perraud, Eve Risser, Mederic Collignon, Magic Malik, Emmanuel Bex, Hasse Poulsen.
He is one of the co-founders of the Coax collective created in 2008 with Benjamin Flament and Yann Joussein. He diverts the guitar with a whole battery of internal and external modifications, playing with his microphones, and transforming the sound of the instrument with pedals and various personalized playing techniques, some inspired by dance and glitch aesthetics as in his Acapulco project.

Pega: At first a humble attic project, later moving to a basement, and currently a bedroom, PEGA began with 6 women meeting on Sundays for a “mumusicale” cleansing session. Then there were 5, then 4, and finally 3: Aude (bass and voice), Bárbara (guitar, voice; member of TUVALU) and Leslie (drums). Now, PEGA is a type of music that sets your inner wiggle in motion, revealing you soul, or at least trying to (magic is still an unstable science). This is Dino-post-punk that sways with a heavy gait, noise-rock released straight from an apartment ficus. Prestigious rock’n roll guaranteed!
