Steve Hauschildt, also known as a member of the American psychedelic noise group “Emeralds”, has been operating solo for over ten years now. Under his own name, Steve is inspired by the cosmic electronic music of the seventies, where melody and repetitiveness mingle with the timbre of vintage synthesizers.
Steve Hauschildt has always been interested in tension, and in occupying the space between seemingly oppositional ideals. He positions his music between the trendy and the avant-garde, the ordered and the disorganized, the poles of precise electronic rhythms and resonant drone choirs that sidestep beats altogether. He built his solo career by reworking the established musical style of his former band, Emeralds, into something entirely his own.
On his latest opus “Dissolvi”, we find all the ingredients that made Hauschildt’s personal touch, namely these organic sounds as well as the cosmic rhythms of Emeralds that he has not stopped breaking down since then. But with this last project, Steve goes a step further and also explores minimal techno, adding the voice of Julianna Barwick and GABI to his meticulously crafted structures.
