Après le succès de son édition japonaise\, elle revient en France dans une version repensée\, célébrant le dialogue créatif entre artisans et créateurs japonais et français. \n« Beyond our Horizons : de Tokyo à Paris » invite le public à un voyage au cœur de la matière\, de la créativité et de l’artisanat. DESCRIPTION:Near Stoic is the alias of Tunisian\, Paris-based composer and producer Skander Ben Yahia\,\nwhose work explores emotion and cinematic storytelling through ambient electronica. \nHis debut Notebook (Thoughts & Short Stories) (Third Kind Records\, UK\, 2021) was praised\nas « eclectic and soothing » by Bob Fischer on Electronic Sound\, while 2023’s Metamorphosis\nEP (Gated Recordings\, UK) expanded into more complex dreamlike soundscapes and\nrhythmic elements. His track « Blossom » was featured in the environmental compilation\n« Place: Tunisia\, » curated by Azu Tiwaline. \nMerging field recordings\, personal audio artifacts\, and analog/digital synthesizers\, Near Stoic\ncreates immersive atmospheres for both intimate listening and multi-speaker systems. His\nforthcoming 2026 album Amor Fati (Uncloud Editions) explores self-reflection through his\nsignature cinematic approach. \n \nAmor Fati – Album Description \nAmor Fati embodies both artistic maturation and emotional vulnerability in equal measure.\nThe nine-track album\, arriving January 30th\, 2026 via Uncloud Editions\, is Near Stoic’s\nexploration of a profound shift in his relationship with the feeling of feeling itself. The\ndiscovery that expressing love and emotion freely is not only acceptable\, but beautiful and\ndeeply human. \nAmor Fati (« love of fate”) embraces the philosophical concept while grounding it in lived\nexperience. Composed over more than three years\, the album captures the wide emotional\nrange born from this extended creative period. This is an album about love in all its forms:\nthe intoxicating uncertainty of romance\, the unwavering devotion of family (captured in\n« Joyful Melodies for Mom\, » composed during a flight to visit the artist’s mother during a\nperiod of isolation)\, the transformative power of new friendships\, alongside the complex\nbeauty found in accepting life’s inevitable losses. It’s a meditation on presence\, grief\, and the\ncourage required to feel deeply in an often overwhelming world. \nMusically\, synthesizers merge with deeply personal recordings of everyday life. Voice\nmessages from a former partner on « DIGITALOVE » capture the gentle rhythms of daily\nintimacy\, while the tender audio from « Too Short\, » reveals extracts from a family video where\nthe artist’s grandfather unknowingly discusses their recent visit and hair-cutting ritual with\nquiet pride. Other tracks incorporate found samples that serve as emotional anchors: a joyful\nbaby on « Joséphine Plays with Sines » shares a name with the song’s inspiration\, while « A\nCute Little Nest to Land » features a field recording of a moment from a couple eating\nbreakfast that perfectly embodies the track’s intended mood. These fleeting elements merge\nto create intimate sonic environments. The result feels simultaneously mature and naive\, a\nparadox that mirrors the album’s central theme of embracing emotional honesty. \nThe album’s visual identity\, developed by Alina Tikhonova\, uses various material from Near\nStoic’s life. For the album cover\, she merges an old photograph from the artist’s\ngrandparents’ vacation house with textures from their Tunis home wall\, which she digitally\nrecreated from pictures. These were spaces where family gathered and where many of the\nalbum’s emotional foundations took root. Accompanying the release is a physical art object:\na sculptural flower designed collaboratively with Skander Jaïbi\, inspired by a traditional\nTunisian silver jasmine machmoum that held special significance in Near Stoic grandparents’\nhome.
