DESCRIPTION:BIO:\nNour Sokhon is a Lebanese artist based in Berlin. Her practice explores artistic research\nthrough interviews\, field recordings\, and site-specific interventions\, which she translates into\nsound compositions\, performance\, installation\, and moving image works. She received the\nEmerging Artist Prize at Sursock Museum in 2019 and the Sound Art 2020 scholarship from\nHBK. Her debut album Beirut Birds was released in 2024 with AFAC’s support. She has\nperformed at international festivals such as Punkt\, Gaudeamus\, and the Biennale d’Aix\, and\nexhibited her work at institutions including SAVVY Contemporary\, Henie Onstad Kunstsenter\,\nand Beirut Art Center. \n \n« Beirut Birds « طيور بيروت is a sonic memory capsule that interweaves live improvisations\, interviews\, field\nrecordings\, and sounds of objects that symbolize migration.\nWhen performed live\, it is accompanied by juxtaposed images of the Lebanese capital’s city life and avian migration across the Mediterranean Sea\, reflecting themes integral to the music. \n \n
