The 'Türk Hit Parade' compilation is a reaction from Turkish "Gastarbeiter" in Germany to the hit parade records of 1970s and early 1980s. The songs of the compilation are dated from 1972 to 1980. The sound of the recordings vary from mono to stereo, from pop folk to laiko adaptations. On the same compilation you can hear an early folk pop tune of Fikret Kizilok along with a funky folk rock of Baris Manço & Kurtalan Ekspres. A laiko adaptation of Füsun Önal co-exists with rock arabesque hit of Ajda Pekkan and the Jethro Tull/Herbie Mann flavored Iskender Dogan. The fuzzy rock piece of Senay and Cem Karaca's Moog monster hit 'Tamirci Çiragi' makes this hit parade complete. For the fans of Murat Ses' style of Hammond organ you can hear Mogollar's 'Çigrik' and Edip Akbayram's 'Garip' where Ses plays Hammond in his innovative style. All are available with the graphic and musical quality of Türküola, in the tradition of funky "Gastarbeiter"!
