Yu Arauchi’s 1st solo album « Śisei » released in August 2021 is now available in vinyl record.
ceroʼs main songwriter and keyboard player, Yu Arauchi, is also known for his explorative compositions as a solo artist.
His first solo album “Śisei” was inspired by post classical/indie classical music, and could be considered a new form of chamber music.
The ten tracks on the album were inspired by paintings and installations, and features a myriad of sonic textures including strings, woodwind instruments, and even sampling.
The album was co-produced by producer/bassist Hiroki Chiba, and features Kento Watari on drums, a string section made up of Masabumi Sekiguchi,
Kano Tajima, Anzu Suhara, and Yuri Matsumoto, with Shuntaro Oishi on horns, and Manami Kakudo on vibraphone.
Julia Shortreed was featured as a vocalist on six tracks as well as singer songwriter/tromobonist Corey King taking on lyrical and vocal duties on other tracks.
A post classical/indie classical sound pervades the diverse album, with hints of jazz and beat music, enveloped with a pop sensibility throughout.
Each of the tracks have a visual quality to them, and the cinematic sound could be called a new form of chamber music.
