Piano-driven indie music with fuzzy textures, multilingual lyrics and a soft spot for joyful melancholy. Oberbaum is the solo project of Brussels-based artist Lucie Rezsöhazy, blending alt pop, bedroom grit and gentle defiance.
Oberbaum’s second LP ‘I Should Be Softer’ was recorded and produced by Katie Von Schleicher (Frankie Cosmos, Cassandra Jenkins, Sam Evian) at Figure 8 Recording in Brooklyn in September 2024. Three months earlier, Rezsöhazy had emailed her some demos in a burst of confidence — or naivety, depending on how you look at it. The collaboration resulted a warm invitation to feel weird, but in good company.
